National Peanut Butter Day!

I love me some peanut butter. I know I'm not alone since peanut butter is enjoyed by many and there's a day dedicated to it! Which happens to be today!!!

 

In honor of peanut butter, I thought I'd share a little information about the health benefits of peanut butter as well as a yummy.

  • Peanut butter is a healthy fat because of it's monounsaturated fats and protein.

  • Peanut butter can help to satiate you because of those healthy fats and protein.

  • Peanut butter contains about 15% of your daily recommended intake of the essential mineral magnesium.

  • Eating peanut butter during pregnancy can help decrease your babies risk of developing allergies

  • The fats in peanut butter help your body to absorb fat soluble vitamins.

  • It tastes good!

If you don't have an allergy to peanuts, definitely give this super easy, protein packed, peanut buttery delicious recipe a try!

 

Apples and Peanut Butter Dip

Ingredients

1 small Fuji or Honeycrisp apple

1 cup non-fat greek yogurt

2 tbsp. pb2 (powdered peanut butter)

1 tbsp. all natural peanut butter

1 tsp. cinnamon

 

Directions

Mix greek yogurt, pb2, peanut butter and cinnamon in a small bowl. Serve with apples and enjoy!
